Lady Wisdom

Lady Wisdom Her Name is
Sophia

We've all heard the story of Solomon. He was gifted with great wisdom. Perhaps more than health or wealth, it's the key to our well-being. Solomon had many wives. Can you image so much wisdom in one man's house.

Wikipedia defines it as "a deep understanding and realizing of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to choose or act or inspire to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time, energy or thought.

It is the ability to optimally (effectively and efficiently) apply perceptions and knowledge and so produce the desired results. Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true or right coupled with optimum judgment as to action.

Synonyms include: sagacity, discernment, or insight. Wisdom often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions") so that one's principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions."

Proverbs 4: “Get wisdom, get understanding, do not forget or turn aside from the words I utter. Forsake her not, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will safeguard you. Get wisdom at the cost of all you have. Get understanding, extol her and she will exalt you. She will bring you honors if you will embrace her.”

Recently I happened across the following suggestions on Facebook (of all places). A friend had them posted on his wall. I think you'll appreciate the message. You can find the author at The Daily Motivator.

"You are the world's leading expert when it comes to your own life. You know better than anyone else what you truly desire, what's most important to you, and what you most enjoy doing.

-It's always helpful to consider the advice and opinions of others. Yet it's rarely ever a good idea to let anyone else make your decisions for you.

-A lifetime of experience has given you a unique and valuable perspective on what's best for your life. When you're seeking some good advice, be sure to listen to your own.

-Yes, it's easier to blindly follow someone else's advice than it is to think for yourself. Plus, when things don't work out you have someone to blame.

-You're far better off, however, following your own best instincts when it comes to the direction of your life. Sure, that means you must take full responsibility, and yet with that responsibility comes the possibility of real fulfillment.

-Listen to others, learn from others, and let their positive examples inspire you. Then decide for yourself, move confidently forward and live the life you were truly meant to live." ~ Ralph Marston

I want to leave you with a final quote to consider:

“Always in your individual aims and purposes defer to the Higher Power and Infinite Wisdom. The thing you most desire may prove a curse. Be always, then, in the mood of saying, ‘There is a Power which knows what will bring me the most permanent happiness better than I do. If my desire is not good, let it not come...." ~ Prentice Mulford.

"Wisdom is a fountain of life to him who has it."- Proverbs 16:22

Playing the Wisdom Game.... what does it really mean?

The Wisdom of Hope; Embrace it!

By C. W. Longenecker

If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don't. If you like to win but think you can't, It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost. For out in the world we find Success begins with a fellow's will. It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are out classed, you are. You've got to think high to rise. You've got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go To the stronger or faster man. But sooner or later, the man who wins Is the man who thinks he can.
